Write The Darn Thing!
Five Months to Architect Your Memoir
Write the Darn Thing! is a five-month, peer-supported developmental series for writers who have a solid body of memoir work and are ready to shape that material into a cohesive book.
This program is for writers who are ready to take inventory, discover missing connective tissue, and architect the structure, arc, and narrative journey of their memoir. Through weekly meetings, guided assignments, and communal feedback, participants develop clarity, momentum, and a clear roadmap for bringing their book into being.

Workshops & Embodied Memoir Writing Series: Healing Our Way Home
Write the Darn Thing! offers a brave, communal space to work at the editorial level of your memoir while being held in a supportive and accountable container.
Weekly developmental assignments are designed to keep you on task and to guide our weekly meeting discussions. Each session includes time to present work, ask questions, and receive feedback that helps you map clear next steps in your process.
Participants will also have access to a Private Group Page that holds recordings, PDF craft handouts, and space for continued reflection and connection throughout the series.
Together, we will:
-
Harness and refine material you have already written
-
Clarify the central message and deeper purpose of your memoir
-
Identify missing connective tissue and determine what still needs to be written
-
Architect your memoir’s structure, arc, timeline, and narrative journey
-
Explore point of view, themes, threads, motifs, and character development
-
Give and receive loving, useful feedback that supports clarity and focus
-
This program is not designed for weekly generative writing prompts or line-by-line critique of individual stories or chapters.
Sherry’s guidance centers on supporting your editorial mindset, project-level decision-making, and action steps for your memoir as a whole, rather than focusing on writing style or craft mechanics.
If you are primarily interested in honing craft, generating new material, or receiving detailed feedback on individual pieces of writing, you may be better served by the Embodied Memoir Writing Series: Healing Our Way Home or one of the Weekly Writing Circles.
-
Group meets once weekly for a total of 14 classes spread over five months
-
Live online sessions take place Fridays from 12–2:30pm EST

Some breaks are built in for holidays, travel, and focused independent work
